What is iTaNGO?

Community groups know that they will benefit by keeping up with the communication advances that invigorate them as contemporary organisations. All contemporary organisations need regular renewal of their familiarity and understanding of the evolving technologies that bring new ways to communicate, organise staff, manage administration and deliver services. Information Communication Technology (ICT) is the primary technology to achieve this.

However, many organisations attest to being largely unaware of the benefits of improving their ICT, lack the resources or skills to do it, or fear making the wrong decisions in the process.

This is why iTaNGO is here to help.

Funded by the Victorian Department of Human Services and the Victorian Office for the Community Sector, Infoxchange Australia has been appointed to deliver the iTaNGO project. iTaNGO is a project that will develop the knowledge and resources to enhance community service organisations' ICT setups and online communications.

iTaNGO information sessions have been held in locations around Victoria to give community service organisations and their leaders an introduction to the iTaNGO project. These sessions provided an insight into the benefits of digital proficiency, detailed the help that is available through iTaNGO and offer the opportunity for groups to flag the areas in which assistance is needed.

iTaNGO Workshops were then set up to help community service organisations in developing a tailor-made ICT plan. Working with colleagues and experts, and accessing a spread of resources, participants will be able to walk away with a clearer understanding of how to enhance their organisation's ICT setup.

The iTaNGO Knowledgebase will continually provide information and assistance to build the capacity of community service organisations.

Communities of Practice will continually offer participants an opportunity to develop their ICT setup further by collaborating online with other similar organisations to share information, experience and solutions to their ICT challenges.

Whether nation-wide or pint-sized, technologically-savvy or IT-averse, iTaNGO will assist community organisations to maximise their digital proficiency.
