The areas of focus for the iTaNGO Communities of Practice have now been finalised based on the feedback from participants at recent workshops.
Communites of Practice (or CoPs) are groups of people who share a common interest or passion around a certain area and want to work together collaboratively to learn how to do it better. In the case of iTaNGO they are based around Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The eight key areas of need to which the Communities of Practice will work towards are
- Social Media,
- Innovation and Excellence,
- IT and Case Management,
- Knowledge Management,
- What’s new? What’s out there?
- First Steps; becoming Stable and Secure,
- Ask the Sector (General), and
- Training.
We invite all people across the community sector (whether they attended a workshop session or not) with an interest in improving their ICT capacity and furthering their organisation's digital proficiency to join a CoP.
In addition to these formal CoPs there are also regional CoPs that will run alongside to enable community sector workers to work together with other organisations across their region on ICT issues and ideas.
We have set up a website to facilitate group collaboration, and we invite interested people to
register on the site and then join a CoP that is of interest to them.
CoP members are able to participate at whatever level they feel comfortable, and are free to join as many groups as they wish.
